A Self-Taught Journey to Photography
My photographic journey is a long story of self-study and experimentation. Without any formal training in photography, I took my first steps in the analog world in the 1980s using my father’s cameras. I initially worked my way through books, later adding online courses and, of course, countless hours of trial and error. Every photograph was, and still is, a lesson—in light, composition, and above all, in seeing.
Travel serves as a constant source of inspiration, whether the streets of bustling cities or tranquil landscapes—every trip changes the way you look at things and influences my style.
Artistic Focus
My photography wanders between documentation and abstraction. A central theme in my work is the transience of the moment, the interplay of light and shadow, and the search for beauty and authenticity in the everyday objects and scenes.

What motivates me
For me, photography is like a language. A language that must be learned. A language that expresses moods, tells stories, and invites the viewer to see the world with new eyes or to discover their own story. Every image is an invitation to pause and look and rethink.
Autodidaktische Reise zur Fotografie
Meine fotografische Ausbildung ist eine lange Geschichte des Selbststudiums und der Experimentierfreude. Ohne formale Ausbildung in Fotografie unternahm ich in den 1980ern erste analoge Gehversuche mit den Kameras meines Vaters, arbeitete mich erst durch Bücher, später kamen Online-Kurse dazu und natürlich unzählige Stunden des Ausprobierens. Jedes Foto war und ist noch immer eine Lektion – in Licht, Komposition und vor allem im Sehen.
Reisen dienen dazu immer wieder als Inspiration, ob die Straßen von Großstädten oder stille Landschaften – jede Reise erweitert den Blick und den Stil.
Künstlerische Schwerpunkte
Meine Fotografie bewegt sich zwischen Dokumentation und Abstraktion. Ein zentrales Thema meiner Arbeit ist die Vergänglichkeit des Moments, das Spiel von Licht und Schatten, die Suche nach Schönheit und Aufrichtigkeit im Alltäglichen.

Was mich antreibt
Fotografie ist für mich wie eine Sprache. Eine Sprache, die man Lernen muss. Eine Sprache, die Stimmungen ausdrückt, Geschichten erzählt und den Betrachter einlädt, die Welt mit neuen Augen zu sehen oder eine eigene Geschichte zu erkennen. Jedes Bild ist eine Einladung, innezuhalten und hinzuschauen und nachzudenken.
